GoHomePWB.com Weekly Top Ten

What a great four days of wrestling! NXT TakeOver, the Royal Rumble, RAW and Smackdown Live were all great shows in my opinion. I also heard ratings for both shows were up following the pay per view, which has to make the McMahons happy. It was certainly a fan friendly rumble with probably the two most popular wrestlers, Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins, winning the rumble matches.

The wrestlers who made the list this week certainly earned it. They all worked hard and put on the best possible show they could. WrestleMania is already shaping up to be great and it’s still over two months away. I can’t wait to see what happens over the next couple months. As for today, let’s take a look at this weeks top ten.

10. Tommaso Ciampa

Tommaso Ciampa might just be the greatest heel in all of WWE. If he wasn’t so great as the NXT champion, he would be on the main roster by now. Saturday night he put the title on the line once again against Aleister Black, and won the match continuing his reign. He will now be apart of Halftime Heat this Sunday during the Super Bowl.

9. Finn Balor

Finn Balor put up a valiant effort Sunday night as he took on the “Beast” Brock Lesnar for the Universal title. Although not victorious, Balor put up a fight that had myself and most wrestling fans thinking he may actually beat Lesnar. It would appear that he now has his sights set on Bobby Lashley and the Intercontinental title.

8. Nia Jax

Nia Jax made a statement this past Sunday becoming just the fourth woman to enter the men’s Royal Rumble match. This was after she was one of the final three women in the women’s rumble. On Monday night she picked up the win for her team, which earned them an entry into the women’s tag team title elimination chamber match.

7. The Uso’s

Jimmy and Jey Uso have earned themselves another tag team title opportunity at the elimination chamber pay per view next month. To earn the number one contender spot, they won a fatal four way elimination match that included the teams of; Heavy Machinery, The Bar and The New Day.

6. R-Truth

So, the always interesting R-Truth had an interesting few days. It all started Sunday night when he was making his way to the ring for the rumble match. As he put it, “first he was rappin, then he was nappin!” Nia Jax hit him from behind and took his spot in the men’s rumble. But he was given a U.S. title match for his troubles on Smackdown and ended up winning it. His first singles title in seven years!

5. Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan retained his title at the Royal Rumble in a very technical wrestling match against AJ Styles. He then had the guts to throw the WWE Championship in the trash and unveil his new, all natural organic WWE Championship. As we found out at the close of Smackdown, he will be defending the title inside elimination chamber against; AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, Mustafa Ali and Samoa Joe.

4. Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar truly is a “beast”, and he proved that Sunday and Monday night. Brock put his Universal title on the line Sunday night at the Royal Rumble against Finn Balor. The match was only about eight to ten minutes long, but it was a match that showcased just how good Lesnar is. Lesnar made a statement on RAW as well hitting his WrestleMania opponent, Seth Rollins, with his finisher… six times.

3. Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey is becoming what WWE likes to call “polarizing”. Which means she is supposed to be cheered, but the majority of the crowd is booing her. Love her or hate her, there is no denying that Rousey has improved dramatically over the last year in the WWE. With her as champion, all signs point to the Women main eventing WrestleMania for the first time in history!

2. Becky Lynch

“The Man” Becky Lynch is on top of the world right now. Although she tapped out to Asuka at the Royal Rumble, she managed to find her way into the rumble match and win it! She then showed up on RAW and got in the face of Ronda Rousey and let her know that she will be proving to the world that SHE is the baddest woman on the planet.

1. Seth Rollins

Seth “Freakin” Rollins had an incredible couple of nights. Sunday night he won the men’s Royal Rumble match, and got a little retribution on Monday night when he beat his former Shield brother, Dean Ambrose. However, the celebration didn’t last because by the end of the night his WrestleMania opponent, Brock Lesnar, hit him with six F5’s. But make no mistake about it, Rollins is headed for WrestleMania!

That’s the top ten for this week, and it’s a great start to the road to WrestleMania if you ask me. Before we get to WrestleMania, we have elimination chamber first, and the chamber is shaping up to be a great show as well. Let me know what you think of this weeks top ten, and as always thanks for checking out GoHomePWB.com, the people’s wrestling blog!
