A lot of surprises over the past couple of days including several returns.  Roman Reigns, Batista, Kevin Owens and Matt Hardy all made returns on RAW and Smackdown.  Now this is what the road to WrestleMania is supposed to be like.  The twists, the turns and the surprises finally give me that old-fashioned romantic feeling.

I am happy to see all the returns and really enjoyed the five hours of wrestling over the past two days.  It was a little difficult to come up with the top ten this week, but after much thought I have narrowed it down.  So lets take a look at this weeks top ten.

10. Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey did the right thing by the WWE universe by refusing to defend the women’s title unless it’s against Becky Lynch.  As I mentioned in yesterday’s blog, her promo was a little difficult to understand, but she is pushing for Becky Lynch to be in the WrestleMania main event, as well as nearly all of the WWE universe.

9. Drew McIntyre

I feel like it’s been a while since Drew McIntyre has made the top ten.  It seems like after he and Dolph Ziggler went separate ways, he has stalled.  But over the last two weeks he has been able to pick up wins over the soon departing Dean Ambrose.  It would be nice to see him get back on track and start making an impact again.

8. Kofi Kingston

Heartbreaking news for Kofi Kingston as we all found out he will not be challenging for the WWE title at Fastlane.  My hope is that he will get that opportunity at WrestleMania.  Despite the disappointing news, Kofi went on to main event Smackdown with Kevin Owens and was on the winning side of things after Owens was able to pin Daniel Bryan.

7. Kurt Angle

It’s hard to believe after all that Kurt Angle has been through and at the age of fifty, he is still competing.  Monday night he defeated Jinder Mahal clean via his patent ankle lock.  He has done it all in amateur and professional wrestling, and if given the opportunity, could still go at a full-time basis.

6. Hardy Boyz

Yes, you read that right, the Hardy Boyz made the top ten this eighth week of 2019.  Twenty years ago it would have not been as much of a surprise to see these two in it.  I love that they are still going, but I wonder if we have seen the last of Woken Matt Hardy?  Nonetheless, it was great to see the Hardy brothers pick up a win over The Bar.

5. Finn Balor

It would seem that the Intercontinental champion Finn Balor would have a permanent home on the weekly top ten.  He has made the list nearly every week this year, and with a good match and win over Lio Rush Monday night, it’s no doubt he’s in again this week.

4. Aleister Black

Aleister Black had a great couple of nights on RAW and Smackdown, getting the pin for his team both nights.  He and Ricochet beat the RAW tag team champions The Revival on Monday night and last night defeated the newly formed team of Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura.  Of all the call ups lately, I like Aleister Black the most.

3. Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens made his return to Smackdown last night in a controversial manner.  Vince McMahon introduced him as the new number one contender for the WWE championship replacing the very popular Kofi Kingston.  I am not sure if Owens is a heel or a face, but he used the Stone Cold Stunner to defeat the WWE Champion Daniel Bryan.  I would say that he is leaning towards a face after using the greatest finisher of all time.

2. R-Truth

R-Truth followed in the footsteps of his ‘childhood hero’ John Cena, and put the United States title on the line last night in an open challenge.  Rey Mysterio and Andrade both answered the challenge and R-Truth decided to take them both on.  Not only did he put the title on the line in a triple threat, he won!  Hopefully they keep up with the open challenge because I feel like it could restore some much-needed meaning to the U.S. title.

1. Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns is in remission!  He fought cancer once again and once again beat it.  A great announcement from the former multi time WWE and Universal champion.  Not only did he have great news about his health, he also delivered a few superman punches and a spear, while helping his Shield brothers Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose.

A crazy couple of nights, but a fun couple of nights.  With great news, great returns and great crowds, I think it’s safe to say that things are really starting to heat up headed towards WrestleMania.  I am not crazy at all about Kofi being replaced in the WWE title match, but I think he will get his match at WrestleMania.
