GoHomePWB.com Weekly Top Ten

After a few really good nights of wrestling, it’s time once again for the weekly top ten. Typically, I would choose five wrestlers from RAW and five wrestlers from Smackdown, but the call ups and Elimination Chamber has forced me to go against the grain this week. So there are a few new faces, but all deserving of a top ten ranking in my opinion. Let’s take a look at this weeks top ten.

10. Ricochet

If Ricochet can avoid injury, the sky is the limit for this man, pun intended. He has probably the best high flying offense I’ve seen since Rey Mysterio circa 2002. In his RAW and Smackdown debut, Ricochet was able to pick up a win on both shows. I am exciting to see what the future holds for this high flyer.

9. Finn Balor

A mainstay on the weekly top ten, Finn Balor continues to pick up win after win. His victory over the team of Lio Rush and Bobby Lashley Sunday night, earned him his first Intercontinental championship. He then teamed with Ricochet on RAW and picked up a tag team win over, once again, Lio Rush and Bobby Lashley.

8. Aleister Black

Another call up with an impressive outing is the “Dutch Destroyer” Aleister Black. He was victorious in a couple of one on one matches Monday and Tuesday night. On RAW he was able to pick a big win over Elias, and on Smackdown he had a better match, in my opinion, and win over Andrade.

7. Mandy Rose

It’s only a matter of time before she hits Trish Stratus like popularity. The WWE is very high on her and as soon as she starts putting together consistently good matches, she will be a major player in the women’s division. Last night she picked up a huge upset win over current Smackdown women’s champion Asuka.

6. The Uso’s

If you were to ask me who is the best tag team in the WWE, I would answer without hesitation, The Uso’s. At Elimination Chamber brothers Jimmy and Jey Uso defeated The Miz and Shane McMahon to win their sixth world tag team championship in WWE. They are great on the mic and in the ring and are truly deserving of the titles.

5. Ronda Rousey

Two title defenses this week and two more victories for the polarizing Ronda Rousey. Granted she beat the same woman twice in Ruby Riott, but to put they type of match together on RAW, after an enhancement performance at Elimination Chamber, was quite the task. Rousey is growing on me, but I still want her to lose at mania and turn heel.

4. D.I.Y.

Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano are two of the top guys in NXT, dare I say THE top guys in NXT? They have been the best of friends and the worst of enemies over the last three years, and this week on RAW and Smackdown proved to the WWE universe just how good they are. Wins over The Revival and The Bar certainly opened some eyes for those who don’t watch NXT. Look out for these two!

3. Boss N Hug Connection

At Elimination Chamber the WWE crowned it’s first ever women’s tag team champions. Bayley and Sasha Banks out lasted five other tag teams inside the elimination chamber to earn the right to be called champions. Now I would like to see the women get past the sentiment and make these titles prestigious in some great matches.

2. Daniel Bryan

“The New” Daniel Bryan was able to defend his championship against five other men inside the elimination chamber on Sunday. As great as he was as baby face during the YES! movement, I think he’s better now as a heel. The “I’m better than you because I’m vegan” character is great! I would put Bryan at one, but I think one man had a better week than he did, and that’s none other than …

1. Kofi Kingston

What a week it has been for the eleven year veteran Kofi Kingston. A week ago we were talking about his sixty minute performance in the gauntlet match, this week it’s nearly upsetting Daniel Bryan and winning the WWE Championship! Not to mention he pinned the champion last night on Smackdown Live earning himself a title match at Fastlane next month.

I don’t know if this push was planned, but I have to tell you … I am a fan of it. Kofi is one of those guys that has been around forever and has never really been given he opportunity to shine like he has in the past week. The WWE universe is behind Kofi 100% and his push feels organic.

Somehow I will be in Cleveland for Fastlane and hopefully witness Kofi do the unthinkable and win the WWE championship. Thanks for checking out this weeks top ten and as always thanks for checking out GoHomePWB.com, the people’s wrestling blog!
