GoHomePWB.com Weekly Top Ten

A great couple of shows this week, and if I am being honest, I thought Smackdown Live was a better show. A surprise title change and another great gauntlet match. A two hour wrestling show is perfect in my opinion, three hours of RAW is hard to sit through sometimes. Nonetheless, things are heating up with less than two weeks until WrestleMania.

So with both shows in the books, lets look at this weeks top ten.

10. Randy Orton

Randy Orton didn’t have a match but he made quite the impact last night on Smackdown Live. In a much anticipated match between Kurt Angle and AJ Styles, Orton interfered and hit Styles with a RKO. Angle did end up catching Orton in an Angle slam, but not before the referee called the match.

9. The Uso’s

The Uso’s are one of the only teams to crack the top ten after a forfeit. But I want to see Kofi Kingston in the title match at WrestleMania so bad, that the classy move earned points in my book. Hopefully it doesn’t hurt their chances of defending their titles at WrestleMania, but as of now it looks as if they will be in the Andre the Giant battle royal.

8. Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch had the best time on the beat the clock challenge Monday night, when she was able to beat Liv Morgan in less than a minute and a half.  She also had the best promo out of Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey.  An announcement was also made that a women’s match will main event WrestleMania this year!

7. The Miz

Like Randy Orton, The Miz didn’t have a match on Smackdown Live either, but he did make an impact. The Miz first suggested that his match with Shane McMahon at WrestleMania be a falls count anywhere match. The Miz then went on to beat up about a dozen men in an attempt to get to Shane McMahon. Keep an eye on The Miz, he is very close to being the most popular wrestler in the WWE.

6. Aleister Black & Ricochet

This is a weird tandem, but it’s working.  They continue to make waves on the main roster and are in the Dusty Rhodes Classic tag team tournament finals in NXT.  On Monday night they defeated The Revival once again, setting up what will most likely be a tag team championship match during the WrestleMania kickoff show.

5. Finn Balor

Finn Balor is back in the top ten after defeating Bobby Lashley and Jinder Mahal in a handicap match on Monday night RAW.  The win grants Balor an intercontental title match against Lashley at WrestleMania.  The match should be a good one but, I am not crazy about this rivalry.  I would be surprised if this match is given much time at WrestleMania.

4. Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre is on a major roll over the past few weeks.  Each week he finds himself in the top ten, better yet, the top five of my list.  He put yet another beating on his WrestleMania opponent, Roman Reigns.  He then went on to defeat Dean Ambrose once again, but this time in a last man standing match.  He is building a lot of momentum headed in to WrestleMania.

3. Kurt Angle

The Kurt Angle’s farewell tour continued in Boston Monday night and then on Smackdown Live.  He is putting on some decent matches, but not near the quality of Kurt Angle ten to fifteen years ago. He took on AJ Styles on Smackdown Live but the match was thrown out due to Randy Orton’s interference. There is no denying he’s been on a role the past few weeks.

2. The New Day

Big E and Xavier Woods did their best to get Kofi Kingston in the WWE title match at WrestleMania. They beat the teams of Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev, The Bar, The Uso’s (by forfeit) and Daniel Bryan and Rowan. The wins have granted Kofi a WWE title match at WrestleMania!

1. Charlotte Flair

In a shocker, Charlotte Flair won the Smackdown women’s championship. She now is half way to her legendary fathers record of sixteen title reigns. I called for a women’s title unification at the Royal Rumble, and with Charlotte beating Asuka for the title, all signs point to that direction. I kind of feel bad for Asuka, but kudos to Charlotte for living up to her expectations.

I really enjoyed Smackdown Live this week and I am happy to see Kofi Kingston get his title match at WrestleMania. I want to say I was shocked to see Charlotte Flair win the title, but I kind of saw it coming a couple months ago. Things are really taking shape headed into WrestleMania. Next week are the go home shows and I am very excited to see he final additions to the WrestleMania storylines.

Friday I will continue my WWE March madness tournament and will also have news on WrestleMania week. As always thanks for checking out GoHomePWB.com, the people’s wrestling blog!
