After a marathon of wrestling the last five days, it’s time to sit down, breath and relax. RAW and Smackdown were somewhat of a let down for me, but after hearing that there is a superstar shake up next week, I understand why they let off the gas. The crowds were great for all the shows this weekend, minus the idiot that attacked Bret Hart at the Hall of Fame.
There are some new faces on the top ten this week, and I’m sure there will be more after next weeks shake up. Now is WWE’s unofficial week-long off-season, and my biggest question was if the brand split was still going to be something WWE does? In years past they would do a split for a couple of years and then everyone just showed up on whatever show they wanted. Looks as if they are going to stick with it.
OK as promised, the weekly top ten …
10. Lars Sullivan (1)
Well look who finally decided to show up… don’t tell him I said that, he frightens me. And after hearing he was suffering from anxiety, I have a lot more respect for this man conquering that disorder. Not to mention he made an impact on both RAW and Smackdown, by attacking WWE hall of famer Kurt Angle and future hall of famers The Hardy Boyz.
9. Aleister Black and Ricochet (3)
These two men are the busiest guys in the WWE right now, they are on every show anymore. NXT TakeOver Friday Night, WWE Hall of Fame Saturday, WrestleMania on Sunday and RAW and Smackdown. These guys are stealing the show seeming every week as well, and I think Aleister Black is getting over very, very fast!
8 Alexa Bliss (1)
Ok, this sounds crazy, but this is the first time Alexa Bliss has made the GoHomePWB.com weekly top ten. She was great as the host of WrestleMania and on RAW Monday night she was back in action and picked up a big win over Bayley. I think we are in for another Alexa Bliss title run very soon.
7. Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins (1)
The first time either of these guys have been mentioned on the GoHomePWB.com weekly top ten. What a couple of nights they have had, as they won the RAW tag team titles at WrestleMania and then on RAW they successfully defend them. I don’t think it will be a long run for these guys, but I am glad to see they are finally getting some love from the WWE.
6. IIconics (2)
The IIconics are by far my favorite women’s tag team in the WWE. They are so annoying, and their voices are at a near screech level. But the entertainment they bring to Smackdown each week is top-notch in my opinion. At WrestleMania they won the WWE women’s tag team championship and on Smackdown last night, they defeated the undefeated Brooklyn Belle’s. (HA) I can’t help but smile when they are on.
5. Finn Balor (14)
Finn Balor has now passed Ronda Rousey for sole possession of most times on the GoHomePWB.com weekly top ten. He showed up as ‘The Demon’ Sunday night at WrestleMania and defeated Bobby Lashley to win the intercontinental championship. He then went on to defeat the returning Sami Zayn on Monday night RAW in a title defense. Hopefully this run for Balor as intercontinental champion is longer than the last one.
4. Hardy Boyz (2)
In a bit of a shock last night, the Hardy Boyz won the Smackdown Live tag team championships. Making them tag champs for a record one hundredth time! Ok, so not really one hundred times, but it’s up there. I hate to say it, but for me these guys are a nostalgia act now, but at the same time, I am happy to see they are still going.
3. Seth Rollins (9)
Finally someone has slayed the beast, Brock Lesnar. That man is none other than Seth Rollins. I think that Lesnar’s days as a champion in the WWE are over and finally the Universal title will be on tv full-time. Rollins is the perfect guy for the job and I look forward to many battles for the universal title over the next year.
2. Becky Lynch (12)
What a night for Becky Lynch Sunday night. For the first time ever, women were in the main event match at WrestleMania, and not only was Becky Lynch apart of it, she won the match! By winning the match she is now the RAW and Smackdown Live women’s champion. The only reason she’s not number one this week … Kofi-Mania!!
1. Kofi Kingston (6)
Kofi-Mania was running wild Sunday night when he was able to defeat Daniel Bryan to win his first WWE World championship. An incredible scene as over eighty thousand fans were screaming and jumping for joy when Kofi won that match. He then went on to tag with Seth Rollins Monday night and his New Day brothers last night to pick up a couple more wins. I am very happy to see Kofi Kingston as WWE champion!
I had a lot of fun watching wrestling this past weekend, but I am exhausted. It was a lot to watch, but it was all good entertaining fun. So much fun that I will be taking a little break for a few weeks. I have some changes coming to my schedule over the next few weeks (good ones) and I will need to focus on the changes. I still plan to do the top ten every week, but until I get used to the new schedule, that will be it for a while.
I want to thank you all for following this blog, I really enjoy doing it and I hope you enjoy reading it. I will be back soon, with more as I adjust to all the changes. As always thanks for checking out GoHomePWB.com, the people’s wrestling blog!
