The superstar shake up is better than the night after WrestleMania in my opinion. A fun couple of nights with a lot of surprises that ended with Roman Reigns going to Smackdown Live. I can’t say enough about the crowd in Montreal, a notoriously vocal wrestling city. Let’s take a look at this weeks top ten
10. AJ Styles
Making his debut on RAW since the brand split a few years ago, AJ Styles teamed up with the Universal Champion Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. These three all had a good outing in a six man tag match, but it was AJ Styles who looked the best. As was to be expected for anyone making the jump from Smackdown to RAW.
9. Lacey Evans
So, she can wrestle. For months all she has done is walk up and down the entrance ramp, until last week we she punched the RAW and Smackdown women’s champion square in the jaw. On RAW Lacey Evans beat long time veteran Natalya in a lengthy match. Evans appears to be the number one contender for the RAW women’s championship.
8. The Viking Experience
Love the team… loathe the name. In NXT they are known as the War Raiders and are quite the force to be reckoned with as tag team champions. I worry that, with a name like the Viking Experience, these men will become the Ascension of the main roster. But with the addition of this team RAW’s tag team division was given a much-needed shot of adrenaline.
7. Asuka & Kairi Sane
This Japanese duo managed by Paige, could be interesting. I don’t feel like this is where Asuka saw herself a few years removed from NXT, but I know her and Sane are friends. I think they will make a great tag team as the WWE works to build the women’s tag team division.
6. The Uso’s
Jimmy and Jey Uso have made the jump to RAW for the first time since the brand split and instantly made RAW’s tag team division a hundred times better. Without question the best tag team in the WWE, The Uso’s will be able to give the ‘rub’ to many up and coming tag teams.
5. The New Day
Well, it’s the New Day minus Big E. But Big O was more than willing to step in for the injured muscle of the New Day. And in case you missed Smackdown, Big O is Montreal’s own, Kevin Owens. Together the three of them beat the team of Cesaro, Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura.
4. Roman Reigns
So I like the move of Roman Reigns to Smackdown, and I like the move for Elias as well. I speculated last week that I feel like Reigns is on the verge of getting booed again and I definitely heard some boos last night. Until Reigns Superman punched WWE owner Vince McMahon. Personally I think Reigns should turn heel, but I don’t think it will happen.
3. Charlotte Flair
Charlotte Flair is staying on Smackdown and I think it’s only a matter of time before she is champion again. She a decent match against Carmella last night and was able to defeat her with relative ease. With some fresh faces on Smackdown, I look for Charlotte to build some great rivalries over the next year.
2. Finn Balor
Finn Balor is a work horse. He had what I think was the best match of the week Monday night against Andrade, and then went on to have another great match against Ali last night. Smackdown is now home to the Intercontinental championship and the ever impressive, Finn Balor.
1. Andrade
I really, really like this move for Andrade. He came out on RAW and fought Finn Balor in what was the match of the night in my opinion. This guy has ‘next Eddie Guerrero’ written all over him. Finally RAW will have some talent on their roster that can put on really good lengthy matches. A must for a show that is three hours long.
A fun couple of nights with an amazing crowd in Montreal. This weeks top ten had a few new faces and all shows now have some new faces. Hopefully his next year will be interesting and entertaining. Thanks for checking out GoHomePWB.com, the people’s wrestling blog!
