NXT TakeOver Twenty Five Predictions

In a rare case, NXT has a stand alone pay per view tomorrow night without a WWE event to follow.  Honestly, I will gladly take my pay per views a week apart.  It’s less to digest and when WWE puts on a four to five hour pay per view, its a little overwhelming.  With that said I think NXT will put on a great show tomorrow night, one that could rival AEW’s Double or Nothing from a week ago.  I’ve taken a look at the card and the following are my predictions for NXT TakeOver twenty-five.

Matt Riddle versus Roderick Strong

The has been a budding rivalry in recent weeks and it should make for a great match tomorrow night.  I have been on the Matt Riddle band wagon since he came to NXT and I think he has a bright future ahead of him in WWE.  Roderick Strong has been a staple in NXT for years and has recently been flirting with the idea of leaving the Undisputed Era.  I think Riddle finds a way to win in this one and Strong separates himself from the faction.

NXT North American Championship Match

Velveteen Dream will put his North American championship on the line against Tyler Breeze.  Initially I thought Breeze going back to NXT was a demotion, but I actually kind of like it.  The main roster is over saturated and in my opinion NXT is struggling to get new stars over.  As far as the match goes, I think it will steal the show, and I look for Velveteen Dream to retain.

NXT Tag Team Championship Match

This should be a good one, as four teams compete in a ladder match for the vacant NXT tag team championship.  Danny Burch and Oney Larcan, The Street Profits, The Forgotten Sons and Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly of the Undisputed Era will all go at it in what is expected to be a wild one.  I look for a lot of chaos and high impact moves, but in the end I like Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly to become four time NXT Tag Team champions.

NXT Women’s Championship Match

In what feels like the millionth time, Shayna Baszler will put her NXT women’s championship on the line against Io Shirai.  Shirai has had opportunities before, but has not been successful.  I don’t look for this go around to be any different as Shayna Baszler continues her incredible run as NXT women’s champion.

NXT Championship Match

In a rematch from NXT TakeOver New Orleans, in early April, Johnny Gargano will take on Adam Cole.  The NXT championship is on the line in what will be a really good match.  I think a lot of people expect Gargano to hang on to the title for a long time, but I am calling for an upset in this one and for Adam Cole to win his first NXT championship.

Look for TakeOver twenty-five to be a fun filled night.  I personally am looking forward to the ladder match.  I think it will be the show stealer, but the entire card looks really good.  I expect NXT to really bring it tomorrow night and try to make a lot of people forget about AEW’s Double or Nothing last weekend.  I will have a review on Sunday and we can see just how accurate my predictions were.  Until then, enjoy the show!
