RAW and Smackdown had their go home shows for Stomping Grounds this Sunday and honestly, the shows were not so bad. There has been a lot of talk lately about how bad both RAW and Smackdown have been in recent weeks, but there was nothing to complain about this week, especially for RAW. Now that another week has gone by, lets take a look at who cracked the top ten this week.
10. Alexa Bliss (2)
Alexa Bliss lost her match on RAW, but it’s not so much her matches that impressed me this week. When it comes to talking on the mic, no female does it better than Alexa Bliss in my opinion. I don’t think there is any questions that she is using Nikki Cross for back up, but she is one of, if not the best character in WWE. I look for a great match between her and Bayley this Sunday at Stomping Grounds
9. Drake Maverick (1)
Making his debut on my weekly top ten, is the new 24/7 champion Drake Maverick. He has been one of the more entertaining “challengers” for the 24/7 championship and last night on Smackdown was able to out smart R-Truth. Say what you want about the newest title in WWE, but I think it’s very entertaining.
8. Heavy Machinery (1)
Another debut on my top ten list is the team of Otis and Tucker, collectively known as Heavy Machinery. The had an impressive win over the B-Team last night on Smackdown and are headed for a Smackdown tag team championship match at Stomping Grounds. I like this team, they are a cross between the Bushwackers and Too Cool, fun to watch for sure.
7. Drew McIntyre (15)
Drew McIntyre is inching ever so close to being the wrestler with the most appearances in my top ten. Second to only Finn Balor, McIntyre continues to impress week after week. He has a big match Sunday at Stomping Grounds against long time rival Roman Reigns. It should be a good one, but check out GoHomePWB.com on Friday for my official predictions.
6. Roman Reigns (8)
I personally like the way Roman Reigns is used on television these days. Before his illness last fall, Reigns dominated segments on RAW. He is being used in small doses and I think it’s to his benefit as a baby face. He is still dominate and still getting cheers, but I honestly think a heel turn from Roman would be really, really good for him and fans.
5. IIconics (3)
In case you missed me saying it in previous blog’s I really like the IIconics. They make me smile every time they are on. Their promo’s are hilarious and Billie Kay’s facial expressions are priceless. I would like to see a few more legitimate tag teams go after their title’s but until then the belts are in their rightful place.
4. New Day (5)
It’s been a while since the New Day cracked my top ten, but they had a good night Monday night winning a two out of three falls match. It seems like they have been together forever, and with Kofi winning the WWE title, one may think it would be the first sign of a split, but that has not been the case. I look for a good match Sunday between Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler.
3. Dolph Ziggler (7)
Anybody else like the new Dolph Ziggler? I know he supposed to be a heel and people should boo him, but he is so good in the ring it’s hard to not like him. For me over the last decade he has been one of the best in ring performers in wrestling. If he were anywhere else besides WWE he would probably be their top star.
2. Ricochet (8)
This guy is impressive, and Monday night he wan and elimination fatal five way to become the number one contender for the United States championship. His high flying offense is second to no one in WWE and is well on his way to becoming a future champion. Will be this Sunday? Check out GoHomePWB.com on Friday for my prediction.
1. Seth Rollins (13)
Coming in at number one this week, is the “Beast Slayer” and universal champion, Seth Rollins. He had a fun night Monday, hitting a half a dozen people with chairs, and last night on Smackdown was victorious in his two out of three falls match against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. He has Baron Corbin Sunday at Stomping Grounds in a special referee match that should be interesting.
Thanks for checking out this weeks top ten and be sure to check out my blog on Friday for my official Stomping Grounds predictions.
