Pro Wrestling Weekly Top Ten

A couple of pretty good shows this week as the WWE keeps on rolling toward Summerslam. There were good matches, good stories and some shocking events that took place. Most notably Brock Lesnar’s brutal beating on Seth Rollins causing him to cough up blood. Not a typical WWE angle, but it got eyes on the product.

So the top ten, let’s get to it.

10. Cedric Alexander (2)

Cedric Alexander has been getting a main event style push in recent weeks. This week on RAW he was apart of the may lay that took place at the end of RAW. Alexander has a good look and good move set and should be in the United States title picture. It’s good to see him get a push.

9. Dolph Ziggler (9)

Dolph Ziggler picked up what might have been his first win since returning to WWE earlier this summer. He was able to defeat Finn Balor with a super kick after Balor was distracted by the appearance of Bray Wyatt. A big win for Ziggler headed into his match against The Miz at Summerslam.

8. Becky Lynch (16)

Becky Lynch looked really good in her matches against Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. So good in fact that she beat them both and was doing great until Natalya came to the ring and put her in the sharpshooter. Natalya and Becky Lynch are to go one on one at Summerslam for the RAW women’s championship.

7. Rey Mysterio (12)

Before getting accidentally unmasked, Rey Mysterio beat Cesaro and Sami Zayn in the United States title gauntlet match. Although he did not win the match, he looked really good in his win over Cesaro. He then beat Sami Zayn in under a minute. Andrade finally beat him and afterwards ripped his mask off.

6. Ali (3)

Ali picked up a very big win last night on Smackdown beating the current intercontinental champion Shinsuke Nakamura. This win will probably set up a title match between these two at Summerslam and I for one, would love to see it.

5. Ricochet (10)

If you were to ask me who the most exciting wrestler in the WWE is, I would answer Ricochet, without hesitation. He won the gauntlet match on RAW to earn a United States title match against AJ Styles at Summerslam. These two have met multiple times already, but they certainly put on great match and I would expect anything less at Summerslam.

4. Brock Lesnar (6)

“The Beast” Brock Lesnar certainly lived up to his nickname Monday night as he absolutely destroyed Seth Rollins. He hit him with multiple F5 finisher on an erected steel chair. Rollins was carried away on a stretcher and put on an ambulance, but Lesnar unloaded him and F5’ed him on the stretcher. A very painful night for Rollins at the hands of Lesnar.

3. Kevin Owens (7)

In what was a really good match to kick off Smackdown last night, Kevin Owens took on Drew McIntyre. After a lengthy match Owens hit a stunner on McIntyre and picked up a clean win over the “Scottish Psychopath”. He continues to heat up as he heads into his match at Summerslam against Shane McMahon.

2. Kofi Kingston (16)

The best match of the week in my opinion was Kofi Kingston and AJ Styles in the main event of Smackdown Live last night. It was a lengthy back and forth match that ended when Kofi hit Styles in mid air with the trouble in paradise finisher. Kofi and Randy Orton at Summerslam should be a good one.

1. The O.C. (1)

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows are once again on top of the tag team division. Monday night they were able to beat both The Uso’s and The Revival in a triple threat tag team match. I like these guys and hope they hang on to the titles for a long time to come.
