Pro Wrestling Weekly Top Ten

Good Wednesday morning everyone, I’m back with yet another weekly top ten. It’s all WWE with a sprinkle of NXT this week. TakeOver on Saturday night was a fun show and we saw a long overdue NXT title win for Adam Cole Bay Bay! RAW and Smackdown had go home shows this week building for Super Showdown this Friday. I will will have my predictions posted Friday morning before the show, until then … let’s get to that top ten.

10. R-Truth (3)

Is there anyone more entertaining than R-Truth? You couldn’t tell by looking at him, but he is pushing fifty years old. And although I don’t see any world championships in his near future, he is doing what he can to make the 24/7 championship a title people want to see.

9. Nikki Cross (4)

It looks as if Nikki Cross is finally getting some love from the WWE. I really liked her crazy “who wants to play with Nikki” character in NXT, but it would appear they are going a different direction with her. Nonetheless, she had am impressive win Monday night against one half of the women’s tag team champions, Peyton Royce.

8. Ricochet (6)

Ricochet and Cesaro went one on one for the third or forth week in a row, but the matches are really good. Their match Monday night was full of reversals, and it was Ricochet that came out in the end the victor. Ricochet has been on a roll lately and I look for him to keep it up and challenge for the United States championship soon.

7. Kofi Kingston (13)

Kofi Kingston was on the winning side of things last night as he and Xavier Woods defeated Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. Unfortunately for Kingston, after the match he was again attacked by his Super Showdown opponent, Dolph Ziggler. It should be a good match Friday and check back that morning for my official prediction.

6. Drew McIntyre (13)

Although he was able to get a little help from Shane McMahon, Drew McIntyre was able to pin Jey Uso Monday night to pick up the win for his team. McIntyre has been a top heel on RAW for over a year now and I personally think it’s time to put him in the Universal championship picture.

5. Matt Riddle (1)

Making his debut on my weekly top ten is Matt Riddle. “The Original Bro” is on the rise down in NXT and is one to watch for as a future NXT champion. He had a solid win Saturday night over NXT veteran, Roderick Strong. Riddle has a lot of upside and will be on the main roster sooner rather than later.

4. The Street Profits (1)

Another debut on the list, The Street Profits, earned this spot the hard way. A fatal four tag team ladder match for the NXT tag team championship Saturday night was a match that rivaled; Edge and Christian, The Hardy Boyz and The Dudley’s. An attitude era type match with some brutal bumps, but in the end it was the Street Profits who were able to obtain the titles.

3. Brock Lesnar (4)

Call me crazy, but I like Brock Lesnar as “Mr. Money in the Bank. Unfortunately for me, it looks as if he will be cashing in this Friday at Super Showdown. He didn’t have a match Monday night, but h certainly made an impact beating up on Seth Rollins and sending him to a local hospital. Check back Friday morning for my prediction of the Universal championship match.

2. Alexa Bliss (2)

Alexa Bliss is finally looking like she is back to her usual self. She has spent most of 2019 not able to wrestle due to injuries. But last night she won a triple threat match against Charlotte Flair and Carmella to earn a shot at Bayley’s Smackdown women’s championship. That match will take place at Stomping Grounds in two weeks.

1. Adam Cole (1)

Ladies and gentlemen, your new NXT champion… Adam Cole BAY BAY! An absolutely incredible match last Saturday as he took on then champion, Johnny Gargano. It has been a long time coming for Adam Cole and I personally think he deserves the NXT championship. Hopefully he holds it for a long, long time.

It was a pretty good couple of day of WWE programming in my opinion. We were treated to a spectacular show on Saturday and we even got to see a few legends on RAW and Smackdown. Super Showdown will be a pretty good show and we should be in for some great matches. Check back Friday morning for my official predictions.
