Monday night RAW took place from Phoenix, Arizona last night in what was an anticipated event, with somewhat high expectations.  I for one, was happy to see that pyro was reintroduced and I thought the re designed stage was an improvement.  However, other than a couple of good matches, I felt underwhelmed by the end of the show.

The opening segment between Brock Lesnar, Rey Mysterio and his son Dominique was an eye opener.  Dominique took some tough bumps last night from Lesnar and ended up leaving in an ambulance.  I think this set up a future feud between Mysterio and Lesnar, most likely at Crown Jewel on October 31st.

Much like the WWE, Lesnar has a busy week ahead of him.  Not only did he show up and ruin the Mysterio’s night, he will challenge Kofi Kingston for the WWE championship this Friday when Smackdown debuts on Fox.  It will headline an already star studded night as the WWE is making the debut an absolute can’t miss show.

As for RAW, after the opening segment, it really fell flat for me.  There where three title’s on the line last night, the RAW tag team championship, the U.S. championship and the Universal championship.  All three matches were pretty good, but predictable, with AJ Styles and Cedric Alexander probably having the match of the night.

I feel like it was a weird night to call RAW the season premier, but I understand why they did it.  Many have said this is the biggest week in the history of WWE as Vince McMahon has always dreamed of having one of his shows on prime time network television.  So of course WWE is going to make a spectacle of the occasion, by making it a week long celebration.

Season premier of RAW on Monday, Total Diva’s season premier on Tuesday.  NXT Live on Wednesday nights, going head to head with AEW, which makes it’s debut on TNT tomorrow night.  And the week will be capped off by the incredibly hyped debut of Smackdown on Fox.  A Hell in the Cell pay per view on Sunday and then a draft starting next Monday.

The draft… the second one of the year I might add.  The draft is going to make things a little more interesting.  If you felt like RAW fell a little flat, you’re not the only one.  But give it a couple more weeks.  I believe after the draft, things will really start to pick up and I think we are in for some really great storylines.

RAW was a decent start to the week, but not really what I expected.  I like “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt, but I like him in small doses.  I think after Hell in a Cell, they hide him for a little while and get fans to the point they want to see him again.  Don’t over do it WWE, you have a good thing going with the character, don’t burn us out so quickly.

I guess I missed something with the Lana, Rusev and Bobby Lashley storyline?  Perhaps we will get more information on that in the weeks to come, but the ending to RAW really didn’t make much sense to me.  One thing is for sure, after the make out session between Lana and Lashley, it’s safe to say that RAW is slowly getting away from the PG rating.

The women’s matches were lame, I can’t even sugar coat it.  The Lacey Evans and Natalya storyline has run it’s coarse.  As a matter of fact, I don’t think it really had any traction from the get go.  Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss could have been a really, really good match but they ended it quickly with a wonky finish that made Bliss look really weak.

RAW had the feel of a filler show.  Just put something together to get to the draft.  That was the impression that I got.  I am optimistic about the direction of RAW, after all Paul Heyman is the man behind the creative team, and I think he has one of the best minds in the wrestling business.
