Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch and Twitter

‘The Man’ is at it again.  Becky Lynch’s twitter is that of legends.  For the past six months or better, she has used the social media platform to add to her WWE character.  To the point where the lines between the character and the person portraying it are blurred.  And if I am being honest… I love it!

For all the negativity spewed on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat etcetera, WWE and it’s wrestlers have used social media in a ‘mostly’ positive manner.  The wrestlers can interact with fans and as we have seen over the past week or two, carry on WWE storylines.

Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey have had quite the war of words on Twitter recently.  The back and forth between the two has become personal and I can’t help but wonder if they are working us.  But the fact that no one really knows if it’s a work or a shoot is kind of the idea.  The mystery behind it has us all wanting to tune into RAW tonight to see what happens.

I recently ran a poll on Twitter, feel free to follow me @TheKess22, on who’s Twitter game is stronger … Ronda Rousey or Becky Lynch?  Becky Lynch received one hundred percent of the votes.  I think I posed the questions wrong, because I believe Becky Lynch is a more entertaining Twitter follow, but I was curious as to who won the latest back and forth between the two?

As previously mentioned, the back and forth was pretty heated, even getting personal at one point.  Rousey slipped and mentioned the ‘F’ word in a tweet.  The ‘F’ word to promoters, wrestlers and fans is ‘fake’.  I am not going to get into the ‘F’ word today, that’s another story by itself, but it was the use of this word that was/will be the downfall of Rousey’s already plumeting popularity in wrestling.

There is no question that Rousey, if need be, could probably physically injure all the women on the WWE roster and probably most of the men for that matter.  There is no question to her legitimacy as a fighter.  But for someone to come from a different arena, the UFC, and call pro wrestling fake, will certainly induce boo’s from the fans.

It would appear that Becky Lynch got under Rousey’s skin, after Becky took a shot at Rousey’s husband during the back and forth.  Rousey then went on to use Becky’s real name and promised a receipt.  It seemed to cool down after that, as Becky may have bitten off more than she can chew.

It’s also a real good possibility that the WWE asked them to cool it.  WWE is a PG product and the Twitter back and forth was certainly not that of a PG product.  I hope we get a carryover on RAW tonight.  If WWE were smart they would take advantage of the extra eyes that the Twitter back and forth will bring.

Who do you think won the back and forth between Rousey and Lynch?  Did it go to far?  Will WWE capitalize on the publicity it received?  I would love to hear your thoughts.  Check back Wednesday for the weekly top ten and Friday for Fastlane predictions.  As always thanks for checking out GoHomePWB.com, the people’s wrestling blog!
