Pro Wrestling Weekly Top Ten

A lot of wrestling to watch over the last week, and as much as I would have liked, I was only able to watch Evolve and WWE. There were some surprises this past week and I like the direction the WWE is going headed into Summerslam. With that said let’s take a look at this weeks top ten.

10. Bray Wyatt (1)

What a return for Bray Wyatt, after an extended hiatus and then months of Firefly Funhouse vignettes, Wyatt returned with a creepy mask and hit Finn Balor with Sister Abigail. It will be interesting to see the direction Bray Wyatt goes heading forward.

9. Braun Strowman (3)

Braun Strowman had a hellacious match Sunday night at Extreme Rules when he won his last man standing match against Bobby Lashley. I personally think Strowman should be in the Universal title picture at Summerslam but that went to Rollins. Strowman is due and hopefully he gets his chance soon.

8. Cedric Alexander (1)

How many guys can say they beat Drew McIntyre since his return to the WWE? It’s a short list, but put Cedric Alexander on the list. He was able to shock the big man get out of the 24/7 title picture. Hopefully this leads to a big push for Alexander.

7. Randy Orton (13)

The Viper Randy Orton picked up a big win for his team last night on Smackdown pinning current WWE champion Kofi Kingston. This leads me to believe that Orton and Kofi will be squaring off for the title at Summerslam. Personally, I think it’s a great idea and I would love to see the match.

6. Aleister Black (3)

After months of promos, Aleister Black got in the ring and picked up not one, but two wins over Cesaro this week. At Extreme Rules Black and Cesaro had the match of the night in my opinion. I like both wrestlers, but the future is especially bright for Aleister Black.

5. AJ Styles (10)

The phenomenal one has done it again. He was able to defeat Ricochet Sunday night at Extreme Rules to win the United States championship for the third time. Styles is good as a heel, but I prefer him as a face, nonetheless he is exactly what he says he is… phenomenal!

4. Shinsuke Nakamura (4)

Guess who’s back? That’s right, Shinsuke Nakamura has come out of obscurity to win the Intercontinental championship. After months off tv, he all of a sudden picks up two clean wins against Finn Balor. I like Shinsuke as champion, I just didn’t see it happening so soon.

3. New Day (6)

A pretty good week for this trio. Kofi Kingston was able to retain his championship against Samoa Joe at Extreme Rules and Big E and Xavier Woods were able to capture the Smackdown tag team championship for the sixth time. Although they lost their six man tag last night, it was still a great week for these guys.

2. Kevin Owens (5)

Stone Cold Kevin Owens has been stunner happy all week long. Sunday night he used the stunner to defeat Dolph Ziggler in seventeen seconds. He then hit Shane McMahon a couple times last night on Smackdown. Owens is headed for unparalleled popularity in WWE, especially if the attitude era is coming back.

1. Brock Lesnar (5)

Your new reigning, defending, undisputed WWE Universal champion Baroooock Lezzznarrr. More commonly known as Brock Lesnar. He finally cashed in his money in the bank contract on Seth Rollins and recaptured the red title. They are scheduled for a rematch at Summerslam and it’s a meh, for me.

That’s it for this week, thanks for checking out today’s blog!
